HOW TO THROW A KICKASS HALLOWEEN PARTY IN YOUR MOTOR HOME

Halloween is the night when the boundaries between the world of the living and the dead become blurred. And it’s the perfect excuse for children and adults alike to play dress-up or go trick-or-treating. All in all, this is one night of the year that promises a silly or scary good time. Unfortunately, for many full-time RV-ers, Halloween is a reminder of all the fun they’re missing out on. After all, it’s difficult to join in the revelry when you’re living out of a trailer, right? Well, the truth is, a life on the road doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your Halloween spirit. If anything, it’s a lot easier to transform your used diesel motor home into a ‘scaretastic’ party venue. Find out how below:

Scary Easy RV Decorations

What better way to get into the mood for mischief and magic than by doing up your rig! There are loads of creepy décor ideas to choose from—from fake cobwebs to plug-in Jack-o-Lanterns. Window decals are a nice touch, while animatronic witches and skeletons can surprise passers-by. Stores sell decorations for both the interior and the exterior of a motor home, and you can stick to a particular theme such as a cemetery, a haunted house, or a mummy’s tomb. The thing is, the more effort you put in, the more you’ll attract trick-or-treaters.

For RV travelers on a budget, there are simpler ways to decorate the vehicle. Go old school by purchasing pumpkins and gourds from the local farmer’s market, and creating your own Jack-o-Lanterns. Supplies like construction paper, scissors, and glue can also be purchased from a crafts store for creating bats, skeletons, and other Halloween-themed knick-knacks that you can hang inside your motor home or under the awning.

Last but not least, do not forget the spooky music.

Get Your Neighbors Involved

You can’t have a party alone. So, invite your campground neighbors for some Halloween fun-and-games. First, if you’re new to the campsite, go around and introduce yourself before letting the neighbors know about the Halloween bash you’re throwing. You can host a pumpkin carving competition. Just source the pumpkins from the local farmer’s market and arrange a few picnic tables, and you’re good to go.

If you receive permission from the authorities, you can even organize a treasure hunt in the RV park. Divide the participants into teams and use a treasure map to search for ghastly goodies across the campgrounds. Make sure there are enough adults to supervise the event if kids are involved.

Arrange for Cool Lighting

The right kind of lighting goes a long way in establishing the mood for your RV Halloween bash. So, instead of regular lights, try something easy yet innovative, like Tiki torches. You can also buy different types of fairy lights but go for colors like purple or red to create a more ghoulish ambiance. Skull lighting can also be purchased from the store. They make excellent additions to your inside décor.

Time to Feed

A party means food, and food involves making the necessary arrangements. Though an RV does not provide you the luxury of hosting a sit-down lunch or dinner, make party platters to feed your guests. You can cook pumpkin soup or other dishes in actual carved-out pumpkins to make it more authentic. Even better, you could suggest a pot-luck style gathering where your neighbors contribute drinks and snacks.

Converting your used diesel motor home into a Halloween party destination is a piece of cake if you know the right tips and tricks. No longer do you have to miss out on this beloved American tradition when you’re traveling on the road.
